PROJECT ACTIVITIES
ACTIVITY 3: EVALUATION OF OBTAINED RESULTS

Activity leader: Ing. Jana Pulkrabová, Ph.D.

The here produced results will be used for the first evaluation of these new emerging chemicals for exposure and toxicological risks in the Czech Republic originating from fish and selected food items consumption.

Distribution patterns and concentration levels for perfluorinated compounds will be established for selected free living and aquaculture fish as a local and Czech Republic global food sources.

Database with all obtained data will be created by ICT Prague for this purpose.

Advanced chemometrics tools will be used for assessment of generated data. Information on fish and different food products consumption in the Czech Republic will be used for calculation of an estimate of the risk which can be in consequence with various food items consumption.

Data on the Czech aquatic ecosystem contamination by perfluorinated compounds will be compared with the information available on Norway pollution by these compounds.

Comprehensive literature search will be also carried out to obtain information on worldwide perfluorinated compounds pollution in fish and other food matrices.

Based on data comparison potential emission sources responsible for pollution of the Czech rivers by perfluorinated compounds will be identified.
